Not really a campfire story but... « Thread Started on Jan 10, 2005, 6:58pm »
We have several overnight campouts for our members during the summer, with lots of giggles - food and spook stories, and this is not really a campfire story but made me laugh as I read this. What came to mind is that for Holloween, Appa-Lolly puts on the Haunted Forest and one of our Wranglers wanted to scare the kids as they came through on the hayride. He thought hanging upside down from a good thick treelimb, dressed scary, he'd get a lot of screams. The 6:00 ride went very well, it was dark, kids were screaming as he dropped his body out of the limb hanging upside down, able to touch a few of them. Being he was tied up there, to assure not falling if the kids got out of hand, it was up to one of us to remember and untie him after all was done. Well the 7:00 ride called & had to re-schedule for the next night, but WE forgot to tell "John". About an hour goes by, all the chores are done, everything put away for the night and we are all by the campfire warming up, drinking up the hot chocolate (end of October weather is pretty darn cold by 7:00 pm) and socializing when we hear the radio coming in... It was "Mr. Patience" John Harton, our wrangler still tied up in the tree waiting for the ride, asking if Someone" could come help untie him ... He was cold!!! I still laugh at that one...
